The Colombian sex strike against gang violence has been hailed as a success and called off, although the BBC notes, “There was no immediate indication whether the strike had had any effect on the local murder rate.” The theme was no doubt drawn by the gang-bangers’ girl friends from Aristophanes’s comedy Lysistrata, available for downloading here from the Gutenberg Project.
