We're On to You, Brits!

Union%20Jack%20Flag.jpg

“I shouldn’t be saying this, high treason really, but I sometimes wonder if Americans aren’t fooled by our accent into detecting a brilliance that may not really be there.” Stephen Fry

The BBC tells us what we’ve all known: a suave RP (“Received Pronunciation”) British accent gets you better service and the inside track for jobs: “Best of British.”

No one beats up on the Brits like the Brits. I'll never forget the text I was assigned for a history tutorial at Oxford--the depressingly-titled "Britain 1917-1991: Progress and Decline."
