It's great beer, as one might expect for a beer brewed in the former German concession city of Tsing Tao. It's excellent German beer, made by Chinese people. I also found that there are some very nice rice wines in China (I didn't like them all, but some were surprisingly good) and even -- a bigger surprise to me -- some nice European-style grape wines. (I only found red ones, however; it seems that Chinese people just don't like white wines. The red wines were omnipresent at good restaurants and were quite drinkable.) Posted by: Tom G.
