I had a wonderful time in Van. Very friendly people. The biggest detracter are the huge oversize Turkish military insignia that scar the mountainsides (sort of like Hollywood signs), apparently as a sort of piss-in-the-face-of the Kurds. Posted by: David at March 24, 2008 9:12 AMIt is interesting that when Saddam rolled into Kuwait, there was all sorts of 'shock and awe', but when the Turkish military invades Iraq's sovereign territory to pursue Kurds, the Iraqi (and American) forces did nothing.
